May 2020 Update

Burren Sonas Kindergarten

Dear Parents, Friends, and Families of our Kindergarten,

We hope that you all are well and have been enjoying the lovely summer weather we have had these past few months!

In light of the recent school and child care provider closures we would like to inform you that the Burren Sonas Kindergarten will remain temporarily closed until the government issues further guidelines in regards to Covid-19. Current guidelines suggest we will remain closed until the end of June however this may be changed depending on future government guidelines. For more information about childcare closures please read HERE.

Though we are sad not to have the opportunity to work with the children at this time we are instead taking the opportunity to work on our Kindergarten operations and future planning from home. For the time being we are planning to reopen the Kindergarten on Monday 31st August. Our wonderful teachers Deirdre and Breda will be looking forward to welcoming back the children for the next semester.

We are currently still taking enrollment (with limited spaces left) for the September 2020 semester so please to do not hesitate to contact us with any inquiries by email to burrensonas@gmail.com or ring Deirdre at 087 713 1590.

Take care and we hope to see you all very soon!

Kind Regards,

Burren Sonas Kindergarten Board of Management

Family Fun Inis Oirr Day Out

Family Fun on Inis Oirr with Doolin Ferry

Saturday 26th May

The Burren Sonas Kindergarten is hosting a Family Fun Day this year on Inis Oírr, Aran Islands.  All proceeds from this great day out will go to the Kindergarten!

Inis Oírr is a lovely island just off the coast of Doolin.  The journey takes only 15 minutes each way.  This Island is a fantastic place for families to have fun and explore!  The island has a large beach and playground area located just a short walk from the pier where the ferry arrives.  Or if you would like a bigger adventure you can hire a bicycle, take a mini bus or pony & trap, or walk around the many winding roads across the island.  There are countless sights to see on this island including a 10th century church ruin, 15th century tower, and a famous shipwreck of Father Ted fame ‘The Plassey’.  Guests on the day may bring a picnic to enjoy at the beach or get refreshments in the island cafes and pubs.  You can find an Inis Oírr map to save and bring along with you on the day HERE.

Doolin Ferry to Inis Oirr

Tickets will cost 15 euro return per person or 50 euro return for a family of 4.  Everyone who would like to join us for the afternoon can meet at the Doolin Ferry ticket outlet on Doolin Pier; please see directions to Doolin Ferry HERE.  We recommend tickets to be purchased in advance with a limited number available on the day.
